To overcome the inconvenience caused by floods or headworks are far away or no approach roads it becomes very difficult to operate headwork pumps. In such conditions it is very advantageous to implement Wireless Remote Pump Controlling System. Headwork pumps and its electrically operated valve actuators can be easily operated from Water Treatment Plant.
This is the most modern and versatile concept of remote operation. The working of Controller is based on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) networking and hence pump control can be achieved practically from unlimited distance. In case where GSM network is not available R. F. Transeivers can be implemented. Wireless Remote Pump Controlling System has two controlling panels. One is the Pump Controlling Panel and the other is Mobile Control Panel. Pump Controlling unit will be placed in the pump house whereas Mobile Controlling Panel will be placed at desired location preferably at Water Treatment Plant.
The function of the Mobile control Panel is not limited to activating ON / OFF commands but are extended to:
Ø Confirmation of ON / OFF status of pumps.
Ø Confirmation of OPEN / CLOSE positions of valves.
Ø Status report.
Ø Power supply failure alert.
Ø Abnormality alert.
ROBOT Pump Controlling Panel also protects Pump from abnormal conditions, also it transmit appropriate signals of abnormal conditions to Mobile Control Panel. The abnormal conditions are as follow.
· Under/Over voltage
· Under/Over Current for each pump
· Pump ON/OFF
· Power failure
· Water level
The system is powered by battery back up, hence can be kept working even in power failure. The controller controls pump operation in absolute safety and allow minimizing maintenance operations.
Provision of calling PUMP STATUS can be provided for the selected mobile number, so that Pump Controlling Panel sends pump status by way of SMS.
This concept of remote control is most usefull for flood affected water supply schemes.
